Dr. Mario Dell’Olio is the founding Artistic Director of the Cloverdale Community Choir. In addition, he is the Music Director at Sonoma Academy in Santa Rosa, California. Dr. Mario Dell’Olio conducts the Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, and Chamber Orchestra. Previously, he was chair of the music department and ethics teacher at Marymount School in Manhattan. Dr. Dell’Olio was responsible for all Liturgical celebrations for the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools. He leads the Choirs on international and domestic concert tours and has released numerous albums on iTunes and Amazon.com. Dr. Dell’Olio was director of music at Mission Dolores Basilica in San Francisco, California, from 1990–2000. He led the Basilica Choir on its first international concert tour to Italy in June 1999. Dr. Dell’Olio holds a Doctor of Sacred Music, a Master of Music in Vocal Performance, and a Master of Religious Education. He pursued postgraduate work in Theology as a seminarian at the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome, Italy.
Winner of the 2022 Premio Vincenzo Crocitti International award for literature and music, Dr. Mario Dell’Olio is the author of Letters from Italy. Elusive Light, Tilting Toward the Sun, New Men, Coming About: Life in the Balance, and Body and Soul. His doctoral project examines the woman’s voice in the music of Hildegard von Bingen.
